Message For quite some time, I've wanted to do something with my seats. When I first bought the car, the OEM leather was terrible. So, I purchased a "system" and repaired, resurfaced and redyed the leather - and it looked 100% better. However, the leather was still hard and uncomfortable from the years of abuse that it suffered at the hands of the former owner. Anyway, I looked into getting new Katzkins or Steamy Z replacement leather, but the idea of spending $650-1200 for a couple pieces of presewn leather to throw over the 10 year old foam/frames that I had made me feel sick (Hey, I'm cheap). So instead, I looked into racing seats. Of the seats available, the ones that I really wanted were the Sparco Milano's ... but at $1200 each for leather, they were not an option. Well, after looking around, I found a picture of an OBX Racing seat that looked good. Generally, OBX is synonmyous with "cheap," but their seats looked really good. I searched some more and found a number of award winning show-car owners that had them and loved them ... BMW owners, Jaguar owners, and of course the DSM cars etc. Anyway, everyone that had them liked them and said they were quality/comfortable. At $525 per matched pair, I couldn't resist. The total including shipping was $555 and they were worth every penny in my opinion. The pictures look dark/flashless, but it's just because the seats are so black/glossy. In one pic, you can see the OEM seat behind the OBX Racing seats. That OEM seat looks black when in the car, but it's dye color is "BMW Dark Charcoal." Anyway, compared to the OEM seat, the racing seats are very black. They have a molded dimple in the vinyl (no, they aren't leather). The dimple makes them appear to have a perforated surface, but it isn't ... it just gives the seats a more leather-like appearance without the wear/weakness issues associated with perforations. They are very comfortable, but would not suit an individual with a large a$$. Lateral support seems good, but I'll have to install them to know for sure. I'm planning on reusing the OEM sliders; I'll just have to come up with some brackets to raise the seat 2-3 inches and line up the bolt holes. It shouldn't be anything I can't come up with at Home Depot with a little effort. Anyway, I just thought to share. I bought these from [ www.massivemotorsports.com ] who I do not recommend at all. They have crappy service, horribly slow shipping (25+ days) and are generally a bunch of liars. On the other hand, the product I FINALLY got is awesome (IMHO). Okay, without further ado, here's some pics.

These pics will probably not last long because of where I stuck them ... so if they're gone and you want pics, just drop me an E-mail. I also have much larger pics if you want a little more detail (2048x1536). Cheers

P.S. I was experimenting with the manual settings of my new Canon S230 Digital Elph, so if the pics aren't the best, I apologize. I'll have it figured out soon enough. :)
